The government has always appreciated the contribution of all Keluarga Malaysia workers, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Cabinet has decided to allow several additional economic sectors to operate in phases during the movement control order (MCO), which has been extended until April 28, on the condition that they adhere to strict health and safety guidelines.

International Trade and Industry Minister Azmin Ali said  that companies listed in the additional sectors will have to submit their application to MITI and must comply with procedures that have been set for their respective industries.

He also said all workers of companies allowed to operate during the MCO period must be screened for COVID-19.

The Human Resources Ministry will launch an e-wages system soon to ensure all workers in the country, including foreign workers, are paid their salaries and wages as promised.

MOHR plans to make it mandatory for all workers, including self-employment and gig-economy, to contribute to the SOCSO.

REHDA Malaysia and MBAM are appealing to the government to bear the full cost of COVID-19 screening for all workers.

In conjuction with Labour Day on May 1, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak conveyed his appreciation to all workers for their contribution.
